Whaler Games is one of the studios whose cool games SayGames publishes. It is a team of 11 awesome and passionate individuals who have been making games since 2020. They love mobile games and a systematic approach, and actively use analytics to make decisions.

Guys created the hit Pirate Raid, an action game with RPG elements, which has over 11 million downloads. Currently, they are actively working on a new game, Jelly Hole, and are looking for a Game Designer to join their team.

Responsibilities

  • Improving and creating an engaging gaming experience;
  • Supporting features from concept to implementation and analysis;
  • Writing/improving GDD;
  • Working in Unity: configuring and testing features, compiling configurations;
  • Calculating, implementing, and tuning balance with an eye on the gaming experience;
  • Reviewing builds and writing structured feedback;
  • Curating visuals: static, dynamic (UI and feature mockups);
  • Analyzing gameplay changes: writing reports on features/tests and suggesting further improvements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Game Designer in mobile f2p games;
  • Ability to convey ideas through text, speech, layouts, and diagrams;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Technical mindset (tables, numbers, formulas, statistics);
  • Extensive playing experience and knowledge of casual mobile games;
  • Basic skills in Unity;
  • Basic understanding of probability theory and mathematics;
  • Understanding of UI/UX basics.

Would be a plus:

  • Technical education.
