Responsibilities

  • Design features ranging from simple daily rewards to complex progression systems.
  • Balance resource sources and sinks within each feature to meet defined goals.
  • Design events and integrate them seamlessly into the metagame loop.
  • Set up and maintain game configurations.
  • Evaluate feature quality before release.
  • Make data-driven decisions about released features.
  • Develop game concepts, contribute ideas, and participate in production.
  • Identify issues in game design and implementation, provide actionable feedback to game designers and programmers, and write clear specifications.
  • Design A/B tests and analyze the results.

Requirements

  • Experience creating mobile games, from developing concepts and core mechanics to implementation and hypothesis testing.
  • Ability to make independent product decisions, propose ideas, explain their value, and bring them to life with the team.
  • Understanding of how core gameplay, meta, progression, economy, and monetization work together.
  • Skills in designing game mechanics and features, balancing gameplay, and writing clear specifications for the team.
  • Ability to formulate hypotheses, work with game metrics, and use test results to guide further decisions.
  • Broad knowledge of mobile games, a strong interest in the market, and an understanding of current gaming trends.
  • Ability to quickly validate ideas through prototypes, iterate based on findings, and explore new hypotheses.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to make a clear case for design decisions, incorporate feedback, and collaborate effectively with the team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with hybrid-casual puzzle and sorting games or hybrid-midcore titles
  • Experience working in R&D or a small team with broad product ownership.
  • Experience using AI tools to prototype and test game ideas.
